A Life Prisoner

Died Yesterday in the State Prison in His Eighty Second Year.

Jacob Van Arsdale, a life prisoner in the State Prison, died yesterday.  He was eighty-two years old and had been in prison twenty-eight years.

Van Arsdale was brought to the prison in 1867, when he was 51 years old for murder committed in Somerset County.

He had been suffering with cancer which caused his death.
