A literary society has been organized. It meets at the pastime Club Hall every Friday evening.  the subject discussed last Friday was, “Resolved, that women have the right of sufferage.”  J.R. Van Arsdale led for the affirmative and J.H. Neustadt the negative.  Jos. Stieren, the judge, decided in favor of the latter.  The question for next Friday is, “Resolved that the African should have equal privileges with the Caucasian.” Joseph Stieren will lead for the affirmative, and W.B. Thomas for the negative.  P.J. Donohue, will be the judge.
